Role Definition
The Business Process & Master Data Owner (BPO) is responsible for the overall management, quality, and governance of master data objects, including customers, suppliers, products, and other critical data domains. This role implements policies, standards, and requirements for master data while ensuring compliance and data quality across the organization. The BPO collaborates with cross‑functional teams to align data management with business objectives. The role has global reach and requires flexibility in working hours with colleagues in different time zones.
Key Responsibilities
* Data Governance: Implement data governance policies, standards, and requirements for master data domains as laid out by MDM Manager (Sreeni).
* Identify new data requirements for new business areas (Application, Sublimation, VTF, etc).
* Ensure compliance with established data governance standards across all relevant business processes.
* Oversee the assignment of roles and responsibilities for data management within the project organization.
* Data Quality Management: Maintain and improve the quality and integrity of master data within the project parameters.
* Conduct regular and consistent data quality reviews for the site and lead initiatives to address discrepancies and inconsistencies.
* Decision‑Making and Approvals: Approve major changes to data policies, standards, and master data definitions.
* Evaluate and authorize data‑related decisions and escalations.
* Collaboration and Oversight: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align data usage with organizational objectives; provide guidance on data requirements for new business initiatives and system implementations.
* Oversee how data is used and ensure its alignment with operational and strategic goals.
* Data Standards and Compliance: Ensure the project adheres to master data standards to ensure consistency and usability across the organization; ensure the project adheres to procedures for master data maintenance, including creation, updates, and retirement.
Key Activities
* Implement Avery Dennison data governance policies and standards.
* Approve data‑related decisions and changes.
* Ensure data quality and integrity through reviews and audits.
* Assign roles and responsibilities for data management within the project organization.
* Oversee the proper usage of data, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Contribute to data quality reviews, attend data governance meetings, and approve major changes to data policies or standards.
* Daily collaboration with functional teams and data stewards in the business.
Skills and Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
* Experience: 5+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or related fields; proven experience in defining and implementing data standards and policies; experience working in cross‑functional teams and large‑scale enterprise systems.
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with master data management (MDM) tools and ERP systems; strong understanding of data governance frameworks and principles; Oracle cloud‑based systems such as Fusion, CPQ and CDM would be a distinct advantage.
* Soft Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; ability to influence and align stakeholders across the organization.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $77,925 - $95,000 per year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
