Job Description:
1. As the Graduate CAD Designer, you will support the senior design team in developing and producing detailed technical drawings for bespoke furniture and joinery pieces
2. Working closely with the lead designer, operations manager, and workshop team, you’ll gain valuable exposure to the full project lifecycle – from concept through to manufacture and installation
3. As the Graduate CAD Designer, you will produce accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks
4. Assist in developing design concepts and visualisations for bespoke cabinetry and furniture projects
5. Liaise with the senior designer and production teams to ensure drawings are practical for manufacture
6. As the Graduate CAD Designer, you will be programming and running CNC machinery
7. Prepare supporting documentation such as material schedules and cutting lists
8. Ensure all work meets company standards and design specifications
9. Participate in design meetings and contribute creative ideas
For the Graduate CAD Designer role, it would be good to see candidates with:
10. BA (Hons) in Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related discipline
11. Experience with SolidWorks (experience with PDM and/or SWOOD is advantageous)
12. A strong eye for details and an understanding of materials, manufacturing, and assembly methods
13. Good communication and teamwork skills
14. Enthusiasm to learn and develop within a fast paced, creative environment
This role is commutable from: Crewe, Newcastle under Lyme, Stafford, Stone, Nantwich, Market Drayton, Eccleshall, Stoke on Trent, Congleton, Keele and surrounding areas
The role would suit candidates with the following experience: Furniture Design Graduate, Product Design Graduate, Woodwork Graduate
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Salary: £27,000 Per Annum
