Contract Site Engineer – RC Frame & Groundworks

Projects: Major RC Frame Developments (EH1 area & New Town)
Red Sky Personnel is currently recruiting for multiple Contract Site Engineers to support the delivery of high-profile RC frame and groundworks projects in central Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled delivery team working on technically complex developments within a busy city centre environment. These roles are suited to engineers who are confident in setting out and thrive in fast-paced, high-specification projects.
The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of RC frame and groundworks packages, ensuring works are carried out accurately, safely, and in line with programme requirements.
You will be responsible for interpreting engineering information, supporting site teams, and maintaining high standards across all aspects of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Out & Engineering Control
Carry out accurate setting out for RC frame and groundworks packages
Maintain dimensional control and ensure all works are delivered to specification
Produce as-built surveys and ensure records are maintained correctly
Establish and verify site control points
Engineering & Technical Support
Interpret drawings and technical information, communicating clearly with site teams
Raise RFIs/TQs where required and assist in resolving design issues
Ensure all engineering information is up to date and suitable for construction
Site & Project Coordination
Work closely with site teams, supervisors and subcontractors
Monitor progress and contribute to programme delivery
Maintain site diaries and accurate reporting
Quality & Compliance
Carry out quality checks and inspections in line with project requirements
Assist with ITPs, permits, and quality documentation
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards on site
General Duties
Support material call-offs and logistics planning
Assist with temporary works inspections where required
Contribute to continuous improvement and team performance
What We’re Looking For
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience as a Site Engineer on RC frame and groundworks projects
Strong setting out capability using modern surveying equipment (EDM/Total Station)
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Experience producing as-built surveys and QA documentation
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Experience in city centre or fast-paced projects is highly desirable
