** Opportunity for a career-minded and ambitious Senior Construction Manager / Project Manager looking to become a director **
The Company:
Highly successful and privately owned construction company, has grown year on year since it was incorporated. Projects vary from £0.5m - £20m, turnover stands around £40m turnover, and plans are to grow to £60m - £100m business. Good time to join.
Predominantly working with leading blue-chip clients in the following sectors:
·Retail - Food and Non-Food
·Living - Student Accommodation, Residential, Care Homes, Hotels, Leisure
·Logistics - Warehousing, Distribution Centres
·Commercial - Offices
What they want (and an overview):
·A construction professional that can combine construction and project management roles.
·To work specifically on a new student accommodation client account managing refurbishment and extension projects.
·Reporting to the Operations Director, assuming a lead responsibility for managing and delivering assigned projects / accounts.
·This is a hands-on role, so must be prepared to work in a site-based management role, when necessary, to deliver key client projects.
·Good leadership, presentational and negotiation skills.
·Oversee and manage multiple site teams & contractors
·Someone with the potential and ambition to be a director
Key Duties & Experience (if you do not understand these key buzzwords then this is not for you!)
· Pre-Contract advice on programme, buildability & risks · Construction programmes. · Contractor's proposals. · Project reporting · H+S plan · Design risks · Construction stage RFI tracker. · Project directory. · H&S plan. · Permits / licences · CPP & F1 · Good contractual knowledge & awareness (including experience of working with JCT contract forms) · Chairs project / site meetings and takes records of same. · Programme projects from Stage 4 delivery through design, procurement and construction. · Change control process · Project reporting formats · Progress reports (both pre and post contract.) · Planning and building control conditions
Qualifications and Experience
·Ideally (but not essential) a degree level / HND qualification in Construction project management.
·Minimum 10 years' experience working in the industry and a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
·Ideally residential /student and retail experience.
·Excellent technical grounding in all aspects of construction.
