This is a key role supporting the effective management, maintenance, and operational readiness of military accommodation and associated facilities across the site.Managing over 127 buildings and approximately 2,500 soldiers' accommodation spaces, you will play a vital role in ensuring barrack facilities remain safe, functional, compliant, and fit for occupancy.This position would suit someone with experience in facilities support, accommodation services, property management, maintenance coordination, or operational administration who is confident managing inspections, coordinating repairs, handling sensitive situations, and working within a structured environment.As Barrack Damage Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the assessment, investigation, reporting, and resolution of damage across barrack accommodation and facilities. You will work closely with contractors, accommodation teams, military stakeholders, and helpdesk services to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and in line with operational requirements and compliance standards.What you'll do:Inspections & Damage AssessmentConduct inspections of accommodation blocks and facilities to identify damage, maintenance issues, and compliance concernsInvestigate reported incidents and assess repair requirementsProduce detailed inspection reports, photographs, and condition assessmentsMonitor recurring or high-risk building issuesRepair & Maintenance CoordinationCoordinate repairs and maintenance activities through the helpdesk reporting systemLiaise with contractors, facilities teams, and service providersTrack repair progress and ensure works are completed within agreed timescalesEscalate urgent or safety-critical issues where requiredMonitor contractor performance and service delivery standardsAdministration & Record ManagementMaintain accurate inspection reports, damage registers, and correspondenceEnsure records are compliant with company policies and proceduresProduce reports on repair trends, building conditions, and outstanding issuesSupport data management and system updatesStakeholder LiaisonLiaise with military accommodation teams and stakeholders regarding damages and repairsProvide guidance on accommodation standards and reporting proceduresRespond to queries and resolve issues professionally and efficientlyBuild effective working relationships across multiple departmentsCompliance & GovernanceEnsure all inspections and processes comply with health & safety and organisational standardsSupport audits and compliance reviews through accurate documentationIdentify recurring damage trends and non-compliance concernsAssist with continuous improvement initiatives and process developmentCost Recovery & Financial SupportSupport cost recovery processes relating to occupant or third-party damagesPrepare evidence and supporting documentation for claimsAssist with tracking repair expenditure and maintaining accurate financial recordsWhat you bring:Experience in administration, facilities support, accommodation services, or maintenance coordinationStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesExperience conducting inspections and maintaining accurate recordsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with contractors, occupants, and stakeholdersStrong problem solving skills and attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office and administrative systemsUnderstanding of workplace health & safety requirementsExperience operating at unit/department manager level OR Level 4/5 qualification (or equivalent)DesirableExperience within Defence, government, or compliance-led environmentsExperience in damage management or contractor coordinationKnowledge of facilities maintenance and repair processesFamiliarity with maintenance or asset management systemsUnderstanding of Armed Forces procedures and accommodation standardsQualification in facilities management, property services, administration, or related disciplineWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater.
