We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Schools Team in East Kent.
You will support the establishment and development of the Balanced System with primary and secondary schools across East Kent. The successful applicant will work alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists, Education Specialists, SLT assistants, and clinical leads to deliver universal, targeted, and specialist support to schools and children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

The Children’s Therapies Team is an integrated team providing Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors, and Care Co-ordinators to children aged 0–19 years within KCHFT. We collaborate closely with other health, education, and social care colleagues to provide an integrated approach around the child.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be part of a Link Therapy Team delivering the principles of the Balanced System to primary and secondary schools.
2. Manage a caseload of schools and children as part of the Link Therapy Team.
3. Deliver evidence-based SLT advice, training, and interventions for schools and children.
4. Assess, plan, and implement universal, targeted, and specialist SLT interventions for children with speech, language, and communication needs.
5. Develop integrated care plans in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families, recommending appropriate interventions at all levels.
6. Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing CPD to ensure a safe and effective service.
7. Work as part of multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high-quality advice, training, and interventions, aligned with care pathways and the Balanced System.
