Job IntroductionSkillsHouse Engagement Lead Adviser X 1Hours of work: Mon-Fri: 12pm-8pm plus alternate Saturdays 10am-2pm(When working a Saturday there will be time off during the week.)Base: Office / Hybrid.As a SkillsHouse Engagement Lead Adviser, your mission will be to reach out and inspire vulnerable young people and adults to take their next step and to support them in training, work, or further education.You will have a caseload of up to 50 - 80 active clients at any one time. You will work in partnership with other teams within SkillsHouse and link in with organisations such as Care Leavers and Youth Justice services, and Further Education providers, ensuring NEET young people are able to access appropriate and timely training.You'll be out in the community building relationships, spotting opportunities, and connecting with schools, colleges, youth services, charities, and other organisations to engage and support new learners outside of the traditional referral channels.This is a perfect role for someone with a youth work, support, or community background who is confident, proactive, and passionate about giving young people and adults the best start in life.You will also be managing a small team of Engagement Advisers who will be working evenings and alternate Saturdays. Due to the nature of support this client group requires, this role will require you to work unsociable hours. You will need access to a car and to be comfortable with lone working.What we’re looking for:A confident communicator with a natural ability to connect with vulnerable young people and adultsExperience of managing teams and driving performance to ensure meaningful intervention takes place with timely referralsExperience of working in youth support, education, community outreach, or a similar roleStrong relationship-building and networking skillsOrganised and self-motivated with the ability to manage a varied workloadComfortable presenting and promoting to diverse audiencesIT literate with good digital communication skillsKnowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to learner welfareA full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.An enhance DBS check will be sought for all appointees to this post.Contact:If you are interested in joining our team and would like some further information, please contact richard.miller@bradford.gov.ukEmployee OfferWhy work for Bradford Council?
