Head of Global Energy Storage Procurement at Zenobē. Zenobē designs, finances, builds and operates battery storage to enable the take-up of renewable power and cleaner fleets. The Opportunity
We are offering an exciting opportunity for outstanding candidates with a passion for renewable energy to apply their skills to the real-life commercial deployment of energy storage projects globally. The Head of Global Energy Storage Procurement will work with project development and delivery teams in the UK, US and ANZ (other regions to come) to build out a world-class supply chain of battery storage integrators.
Responsibilities
* Reports to the Director of Procurement and Contracts — Network Infrastructure
* Set the global procurement category strategy for the battery energy storage supply chain
* Represent Zenobē globally across its critical battery storage integrator supply chain and act as supplier relationship owner in this category
* Own global volume or framework supply deals for battery storage
* Ensure Zenobē stays at the forefront of the latest supplier technology developments in battery energy storage
* Manage a small team of battery energy storage experts
* Work with project teams and the procurement team to deliver cost, time and quality objectives for the battery supply chain
* Interface with route to market and trading teams to align supplier commercial agreements with trading models and requirements
* Interface with project development teams to provide expertise on commercial structures achievable with battery energy storage integrator suppliers
* Build best-in-class commercial arrangements and contract templates for battery energy storage suppliers
* Ensure supply chain contracts are negotiated and contracted in line with timelines and capex efficiency
* Member of the procurement and contracts leadership team — Network Infrastructure
* Collaborate with delivery to ensure all contractors meet contractual performance obligations and delivery targets
* Lead in mitigating commercial risk on construction projects
* Represent Zenobē at supply chain conferences and build a reputation as a customer of choice for energy storage partners
* Provide senior-level representation for Zenobē on claims or supplier contractual issues

* 10+ years’ experience in procurement of complex capital equipment with long-term operational guarantee commercial models
* Experience in battery energy storage procurement and deep knowledge in the field
* Deep industry knowledge and technical subject matter expertise in battery storage developments
* Experience of procurement in a capital projects environment
* Team leadership experience
* Ability to interface with engineering teams
* Experience of owning a procurement category strategy globally and building a best-in-class supply chain for global spend
* Experience constructing battery energy storage systems and/or other renewables assets
* Energy industry experience
* A genuine passion for renewable energy
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc.)
