Overview
#TeamFlegg are looking for a Salaried GP to join the team between 3 and 6 sessions per week. We could also consider a Retainership working term hours or something similar if agreed in advance. Your days will run from 08:30 to 18:00 with appointments 15 minutes long and a maximum of 24 appointments per day. You may often be the only GP in the surgery, responsible for all patient administration on the day – including pathology, letters and tasks. The PCN Pharmacy Team supports a large volume of our documents and we also have a Practice Pharmacist, ANP, Nurse, Physio and Mental Health Practitioners. This is a teaching practice supporting GP Resident Doctors, serving an elderly patient population without care homes; home visits are very infrequent and limited mainly to palliative care. We use SystmOne and have recently undergone a huge digital transformation at the surgery, supporting our patients with this move.
We are seeking a dedicated and autonomous General Practitioner to join our friendly rural practice in Fleggburgh. On designated working days you will act as the sole GP on site, providing comprehensive primary care services to our patient population.
About the Practice
Fleggburgh Surgery is a small rural dispensing surgery providing healthcare to around 2,000 patients. Staff are highly appreciated by our patients who consistently rate the surgery as one of the best in Norfolk & Waveney. It is a small team that works closely together; we value getting to know colleagues in Reception, Dispensary, and Nursing and working as part of a cohesive unit. The practice is led by a GP Partner, Managing Partner and Practice Manager, all enthusiastic about ensuring staff enjoy working here and feel valued – including bonuses, Christmas/Easter gifts, social outings, and frequent snacks and treats.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, patient-centred medical care across a full range of primary care presentations
* Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations, including urgent and routine appointments
* Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
* Prescribe medications and review ongoing treatments
* Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and other services
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
* Provide clinical leadership and decision‑making as the sole GP on duty
* Collaborate effectively with nursing, administrative, and allied healthcare staff
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration and licence to practise
* Experience working independently in a primary care setting
* Strong clinical decision‑making and organisational skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to manage workload efficiently as the sole clinician on site
Desirable
* Experience in rural or community‑based practice
* Interest in continuity of care and community health
