Role Overview
The role involves tracking patients through their cancer pathway to ensure they meet all National Cancer Waiting Times targets, particularly the 28‑day faster diagnosis standard. The post-holder will also cover multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, use video conferencing equipment, and work closely with Cancer Pathway Coordinators in a team environment.
Responsibilities
* Track patients through the cancer pathway and ensure compliance with National Cancer Waiting Times targets, including the 28‑day diagnosis standard.
* Provide occasional coverage of MDT meetings and facilitate communication using video conferencing equipment.
* Extract clinical and administrative data from Trust IT systems, case notes, and other agreed sources to support cancer registration, complying with National Cancer Registration Service (NCRS) requirements and standards.
* Ensure compliance with National Cancer Waiting Times targets and deadlines across all duties.
Qualifications
* Good IT skills and familiarity with electronic medical records.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology.
* Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and liaison skills, able to interact with staff at all levels.
* Team‑oriented, able to collaborate effectively with Cancer Pathway Coordinators.
