Blackpool Coastal Housing manages almost 5,000 social housing properties across Blackpool, providing related services to its tenant and leasehold customers and regenerating areas to create opportunities for our local residents to thrive.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Neighbourhoods Team, within the Housing Services Department as a Neighbourhood Team Leader and you might be exactly who we’re looking for!

The Team Leader within the Housing Services Department, Neighbourhoods Team will supervise the day-to-day delivery of the housing management service and manage the team to deliver a high quality, customer-focused service. This will include contributing to the recruitment of staff, training and development, attendance and performance management.

We are looking for someone with experience in housing management, ideally with a social landlord as you will be required to provide technical and housing management advice.

It would be preferable for you to have previous people management experience to provide effective team leadership as well as excellent IT skills enabling you to use our housing management system.

Candidates will need a sound understanding of delivering excellent customer services and be able to provide non-legal and legal direction in regards to enforcement action (relating to Breach of Tenancy issues), leadership and motivate the team, having the confidence to analyse/identify problems affecting service delivery and develop/discuss potential solutions with the Housing Services Managers.

The successful candidate will manage a team of Neighbourhood Officers and contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of the service, support the Neighbourhoods Manager in the delivery of the required outcomes of BCH’s Business Plan and Service Plan and will strive to improve and meet Key Performance Indicators on a regular basis.

Communicating, influencing and negotiating is an integral part of the role so applicants should possess and be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.This should include being able to handle difficult conversations, achieving conflict resolution, empathising with victims, building positive working relationships with both internal colleagues and external agencies and assistingthe Housing Services Managers with the investigation and response to complaints up to Stage 2.

The post holder must have a detailed knowledge and understanding of housing legislation (including Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014), national housing issues and good practice when dealing with tenants in a social housing environment, along with an understanding of the principles of social housing needs and services for vulnerable and complex needs customers, including those with multiple disadvantages.In addition, applicants should possess an understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation.

A minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) to include Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, post-secondary education (or equivalent) and a supervisory or management qualification (or equivalent) are essential.

The post holder must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, as the role will require regular business travel across the Blackpool area.

Any offer of appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as a CRB check).
