Pre Lit File Handler

Description
The File Handler is responsible for managing their own caseload of pre-litigated NIHL claims within a supported team environment. The role involves progressing claims to conclusion or litigation, following strategies to achieve desired client outcomes while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience with NIHL / Military Disease Claims and be capable of handling pre-litigated files to meet client KPIs and SLAs. This position is suitable for someone seeking to gain experience in managing their own caseload.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintain a caseload of approximately 250 files
* Review documents and prepare reports
* Review evidence, including medical and personnel records
* Send out initial letters and complete file opening procedures upon receipt of new files
* Conduct Companies Searches and ELTO Searches
* Perform Director searches and correspondence
* Instruct investigators and liaise with claimants, insurers, and brokers for updates and evidence
* Handle general administrative tasks, including scheduling
* Conduct investigations, obtain witness statements, and carry out research
* Draft correspondence and documents
* Manage routine communications and instructions from insurers and insureds
* Ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Desirable:
* Understanding of file handling processes for disease claims
* Knowledge of pre-litigation stages for disease claims
Essential:
* Proficiency in handling disease cases, with NIHL experience preferred
* Effective negotiation skills
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and experience with Case/Claims Management systems
* Ability to use initiative, organize, and prioritize tasks independently
* Attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration
* Strong listening and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
