Senior Azure Data Engineer
Morgan Hunt is recruiting two Senior Azure Data Engineers on a contract basis for a public sector organisation based in Brighton. The role focuses on Azure, and the ideal candidate will have strong Azure knowledge and experience in building and maintaining data engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Own technical delivery within an agile squad by translating user stories into robust Azure‑based data engineering solutions.
* Build scalable, cost‑efficient components of the organisation’s Data Platform.
* Maintain compliance with governance policies.
* Support operational reliability through monitoring and alerting.
* Stay current with evolving technologies.
* Coach and mentor junior engineers and guide analysts on data platform use, helping develop data capability across the organisation.
* Support or deputise for the Principal Data Engineer in solution design and team leadership.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and data storage technologies (Azure preferred).
* Hands‑on data engineering development experience.
* Strong SQL skills.
* Data integration and workflow application knowledge (preferable Azure Data Factory).
* Agile working experience.
* Strong technical delivery and mentoring capabilities.
Contract Details
* Contract until 31/03/26 (6‑9 month project, high potential for extension).
* 4 days per month office attendance – Brighton office.
* £550‑£650 per day (Inside IR35).
