Occupational Health Nurse / Advisor (Part-Time, 2–3 Days per Week)

About Us
Alert Health is a leading, doctor-led Occupational Health provider, delivering services that prevent work-related illness, promote wellbeing, and support safe workplaces. As our team expands, we are seeking a proactive Occupational Health Nurse / Advisor to support employees in an aquaculture environment, working closely with HR and Health & Safety teams on-site.
The Role
This is a flexible part-time role (2–3 days per week), providing professional Occupational Health services to employees. Depending on your experience and level, you will deliver a mix of clinical services, health assessments, and workplace wellbeing support.
Please note:
* All assessments will be carried out in the corporate offices of the company.
* Initial training will be undertaken at our Inverness clinic.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting statutory health surveillance (audiometry, spirometry, skin checks, shift worker assessments, etc.).
* Performing fitness-for-task assessments (e.g. working at height, forklift, confined spaces, food handling).
* Carrying out pre-placement and return-to-work assessments.
* Contributing to discussions about occupational health risks based on occupational health data reporting.
* Promoting workplace wellbeing initiatives such as musculoskeletal health, fatigue management, and mental health awareness.
* Working closely with the Health & Safety and HR teams to support employee wellbeing and safe working practices.
* Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant clinical records (Meddbase system).
* If appointed at Advisor level: Delivering case management, supporting sickness absence management, and liaising with HR/managers to plan rehabilitation and return-to-work strategies.
About You
We're looking for a motivated Occupational Health professional who can balance independence with teamwork.
Essential:
* Registered Nurse (NMC).
* Experience in Occupational Health services, ideally in industrial or manufacturing environments.
* Strong knowledge of statutory health surveillance and workplace risk management.
* Excellent communication and IT skills.
Desirable:
* Occupational Health qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree).
* Experience in aquaculture or related industries.
* Case management experience (for Advisor level applicants).
