Our client, a public sector organisation in London, is currently seeking a Highways Development Management Officer on a contract basis. This role is essential in managing development impacts on the highways network and ensuring compliance with planning obligations, such as S106 agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessing development proposals to ascertain their impact on the highways network
Ensuring compliance with S106 agreements and other relevant planning obligations
Providing technical advice on highway development matters to developers and stakeholders
Coordinating development-related highway works and liaising with contractors
Preparing technical reports and contributing to planning consultations
Reviewing and approving highway layouts and accesses proposed by developers
Managing and monitoring development works to ensure they meet required standards
Collaborating with internal and external partners to facilitate successful project delivery
Job Requirements:
Experience in development management related to highways
Understanding of S106 agreements and their application in development projects
Strong knowledge of highways design principles and standards
Ability to assess and mitigate development impacts on the highways network
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline
