About the Role
As Publicity & Data Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate maintenance, security and compliance of public transport information and data systems for Cheshire East. You’ll ensure that passengers, operators and partners have access to up‑to‑date, clear and consistent information, while meeting national standards and statutory requirements.
The role includes managing transport databases, developing and maintaining procedures, coordinating public transport publicity, and working closely with internal teams, operators and external bodies. You’ll support project development, including real-time passenger information (RTPI) and bus stop infrastructure, data analysis, reporting, procurement activity and budget monitoring, and provide technical guidance to colleagues where required.
A significant part of the role involves coordinating and installing timetable and passenger information across the borough, including site visits and on‑street work using a council fleet van. You’ll also support the work of Monitoring Officers to ensure service objectives are delivered efficiently and accurately.
