With a strong reputation for professionalism, technical expertise and long-standing client relationships, the organisation is now seeking a Senior Building Surveyor and an Assistant / Junior Building Surveyor to join its Belfast office.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and forward-looking team that places strong emphasis on career development, professional standards, and long‑term progression.
The client has significant exposure to private‑sector andmercial projects. Some current and recentmissions include:
1. A new hotel development (approx. £13m), where the consultancy is appointed to provide building consultancy and project services
2. A city centre hotel project (£12m–£20m depending on client option), delivering technical advisory and contract administration services
3. A new aparthotel development (approx. £18m), providing building surveying and project support
4. A hospitality development incorporating guest amodation (approx. £3m)
5. A regeneration and refurbishment project for a private client (approx. £4m)
These projects provide strong exposure to new‑build, refurbishment, and regeneration works across multiple sectors.
Your new role
In this role, you will support and deliver a broad range of building surveying services across a varied portfolio of construction projects, working from early feasibility and survey stages through to contract administration andpletion.Responsibilities will include undertaking condition and defect surveys, preparing technical reports and specifications, administering building contracts, and liaising closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and inpliance with relevant standards.Depending on your level of experience, you may take full responsibility for your own projects or work closely with senior colleagues on moreplex schemes. Structured support will be provided where required, with a clear pathway for progression to senior‑level responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience as a Building Surveyor within the construction or built‑environment sector, ideally gained within a consultancy environment, though candidates from other relevant backgrounds will also be considered.You should demonstrate a sound understanding of building surveying services, including surveys, technical reporting, specifications, and contract administration, along with the ability to manage workloads effectively across multiple projects.Strongmunication skills are essential, as you will regularly engage with clients, consultants, and contractors.Candidates must be RICS APC registered or actively working towardspletion of the APC, with chartership (MRICS) either achieved or a clear intention to work towards it. The organisation actively supports APC candidates and encourages ongoing professional development.Above all, you will be motivated, detail‑oriented, and professional, with the confidence to represent the consultancy and build strong client relationships.
