About The Role
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable low‑carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke. We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you'll be doing
The purpose of the role is to support delivery of the project in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance against project requirements, external accreditations and industry good practice. The role includes:
* Support project teams in developing the quality plans/inspection & test plans, ensuring customer/project requirements are met and reviewing those from the supply chain.
* Assist delivery teams in achieving required deliverables, managing issues, and providing quality advice to the supply chain where appropriate.
* Use existing systems to establish and agree sample and benchmark plans with customers and supply chain, and use digital systems to monitor performance of quality planning, production of quality deliverables and issue management against targets.
* Support the project team in collating and delivering handover records as per customer requirements, on time.
* Work to the processes and procedures of the Business Management System.
* Support the quality team during internal and external audits.
* Support implementation of project or business stream quality strategies, plans and actions across the scope of services and full project lifecycle.
* Assist in training, coaching and developing quality skills, including sharing lessons learned.
* Support the establishment of a continual improvement culture.
* Support investigations and/or reporting on quality related issues as required.
* Support the use of appropriate digital toolset to support project governance and quality assurance/measures, including training of those tools.
* Ensure relentless focus on Zero Harm and Right First Time.
Who we're looking for
Essential
* Prior quality experience and/or relevant operational/technical experience to meet industry sector demands.
* Knowledge of ISO9000 terminology.
* Understanding and commitment to quality management.
* Awareness of business improvement initiatives.
* Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts.
* Work to plans and programmes.
* Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion.
* Good at building relationships and can influence effectively.
* Can deliver oral and written reports objectively.
* Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking.
* Works within a multi‑discipline team.
* Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology (e.g., Office 365).
Desirable
* ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor training.
* Awareness of sector specific certifications and their requirements.
* Experience using Digital Progressive Assurance systems/Electronic Forms.
* Operational experience in construction or asset management.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Level 4+ qualification in quality, construction or manufacturing (relevant industry) or PCQI.
Desirable Qualifications
* Either a CQI Practitioner or working towards Practitioner status.
