Job Overview
We have a fantastic new opportunity in the Audiology department. We are recruiting a full‑time, permanent Band 7 Audiologist or Clinical Scientist to lead our vestibular assessment and rehabilitation service.
Band 7 – £47,810 – £54,710
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Permanent contract
Key Responsibilities
* Lead vestibular testing and rehabilitation service.
* Line manage a team of Audiologists involved in the service.
* Supervise students on the STP and HTS.
* Be involved with service review and development.
Qualifications
* STP, or M.Sc. in Clinical Audiological Science and Certificate of Audiological Competence, or BAAT or PTP or BSc in Audiology.
* Clinical skills and management to appropriate standard of independent practice as supported by or working towards State Registration.
Skills and Knowledge
* Relevant practical knowledge and experience: patient handling, counselling and all necessary skills involved in adult working.
* Experience of vestibular testing, including VNG, Vemps, and vHIT.
* Experience of using all relevant diagnostic, rehabilitative and clinical instrumentation including the fitting and verification of hearing aids.
* Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
* Ability to develop and maintain record‑keeping systems and procedures.
* Ability to oversee equipment, resources and monitor staff completing vestibular testing.
Experience
* Vestibular testing with adults.
* Vestibular rehabilitation.
* Adult hearing assessment and management.
* Communication with multidisciplinary teams ensuring effective patient management.
* Staff management and leadership.
* Service monitoring and development.
* Training and supporting junior staff including trainees on registered courses.
