Overview and Responsibilities
The Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, with an ambitious growth plan. We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team at our North West Aurora Schools, including Aurora Brooklands, Keyes Barn, and Woodlands Schools. These schools offer flexible day placements for students aged 5 to 19 with communication difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, autism spectrum conditions, anxieties, and other barriers to learning.
This new role aims to develop and embed our therapy services for young people. Key duties include:
1. Collaborate with the SENCo and therapy team to ensure high-quality healthcare and therapy services.
2. Work with families and external agencies to tailor therapy to children's needs.
3. Conduct autonomous assessments of children with diverse needs, including ASD, sensory, and attachment issues.
4. Analyze assessments to recommend and implement appropriate interventions.
5. Support individual development and care plans, focusing on daily living, self-care, and leisure activities.
6. Develop, evaluate, and review personalized occupational therapy treatment plans.
7. Maintain accurate records in line with professional standards.
8. Assess children with complex needs, applying advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Commitment to professional development
* Experience in occupational therapy, preferably with children in educational settings
Desirable:
* Experience in CAMHS or ASC settings
* Experience working in paediatric or special schools
