Fleet & Maintenance Shift Supervisor
Location: Croydon Workshop, Croydon, England.
Job type: Permanent contract.
Working Hours: Full time – 39.5 hours per week. Rotating shift pattern: week 1 (06:00 – 14:30), week 2 (10:30 – 19:00). You will work 1 in 3 Saturdays with a weekday day off.
Salary: £49,503 per annum + Saturday supplement (£50 per shift).
Annual holiday: 22.5 days (plus bank holidays), rising with service, with option to purchase additional days.

Responsibilities
* First‑line leadership: deliver weekly team meetings and shift huddles; involve in remedial approaches to conduct issues and support technician well‑being after sick leave.
* Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
* Use your own personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repair of light/heavy goods vehicles, with access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern workshops.
* Manage effective stock control, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work orders and vehicle documentation to meet business and legal requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced leader: managed a team of vehicle technicians, strong knowledge of health & safety, and ability to communicate technical issues.
* Qualified mechanic: fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent) with your own toolkit for standard repairs.
* Varied vehicle experience: proven technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles such as LCV/HGV.
* Valid UK driving licence: full manual licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
* High working standards: take pride in your work and ensure tasks are completed effectively.
* Flexible to service demands: able to work on a flexible shift rota and support your team as required.
