WWL NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Temporary Transport Drivers to work with us until the end of the year. WWL prides itself on having a dedicated Transport team, who enjoy helping deliver vital supplies, equipment, and transport staff across our hospitals and community sites. Gain experience driving a variety of vehicles from vans and minibuses to 7.5-tonne vehicles with tail lifts. Must have a D1 Driving licence to perform this role. Key responsibilities: · Safely transport goods, linen, pharmacy supplies, medical specimens, and Trust staff between hospital sites. · Ensure staff are safely moved between locations to support patient care and daily operations. · Maintain vehicles in a clean, tidy, and roadworthy condition. · Carry out daily vehicle checks, minor maintenance, and report any faults promptly. · Promote excellent customer service with patients, visitors, and staff. · Assist with mail processing and other transport-related duties when required. Requirements of the role: · Valid D1 driving licence is essential (for operating minibuses and relevant vehicle classes). · At least 2 years’ recent experience as a driver, preferably within a healthcare or similar environment. · Confident in manual handling and the use of transport equipment such as sack trucks. · Must be happy to commute to the Van Depot at the start of each shift, which is situated at Martland Point, Fourmarts Road, Wigan, WN5 0LU · Calm, professional, and customer-focused with excellent communication skills. · Knowledge of basic vehicle checks, and fuel-efficient driving is desirable but not essential. Additional Information: · This is a temporary position until the end of the year, however this may be extended but cannot be guaranteed. · Flexibility may be required to cover other routes or shifts when needed. · All employees must comply with Trust policies, training, and safety standards.
