Job Purpose
In this role, you will contribute to the achievement of DiaSorin’s sales growth, profitability, and reputational objectives by providing responsive, effective, and professional technical service and support to customers via phone and site visits, always with the aim of maximising equipment uptime and productivity.
Region
This role will cover Yorkshire, Lancashire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist the customer with any technical issues by phone support, with response‑time as defined within the customer contract (typically 1 working hour).
* Attend customer site to troubleshoot and repair any reported equipment faults, with response‑time as defined within the customer contract (typically same‑day or next‑working‑day).
* Complete all preventative maintenance (PM) in accordance with defined schedules, and to DiaSorin corporate standards.
* Install any upgrades necessary to maintain instrument performance, safety, and reliability in accordance with defined deadlines.
* Document all service activity within DiaSorin’s corporate service management application, and in accordance with defined standards and timeframes.
* Provide first‑level engineering support for installation and decommissioning of instruments.
* Provide support for the interfacing of instruments to laboratory computer systems.
* Provide first‑line support of any IT components (PC/printer/software) provided by DiaSorin as an element of their product offering.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* Bachelors degree or appropriate HNC/HND – specialty in Biomedical Sciences or Engineering.
* Previous experience as a field service engineer within a medical laboratory environment, or as a medical laboratory assistant having a demonstrable practical aptitude and interest in engineering. Strong applicants without such experience, but with good experience in complex electro‑mechanical equipment gained in a highly regulated industry will be considered.
* Electromechanical and fluidic systems experience.
* IT experience, with a good knowledge of MS Windows.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Team working.
* Time management.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
