Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Have primary responsibility for the provision of Paediatric Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) education and specialist nursing for Children and Young People (CYP), practicing autonomously as a core member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Lead the Paediatric SACT Education project for Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Units (POSCU) across the Wessex network, enabling CYP to receive SACT closer to home while maintaining high standards of care.
* Support the upskilling of nursing and medical clinicians within the Wessex POSCUs to implement and deliver infusional chemotherapy.
* Provide specialist advice, education and support to POSCUs by writing and implementing SACT training standards, including the use of CADD devices, to ensure safe administration locally and in the community.
* Deliver education to ensure all eligible paediatric oncology nursing staff at the Principal Treatment Centre undertake and complete SACT competencies as outlined by Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG).
* Work across professional, departmental and Trust boundaries to develop seamless, patient-centred care, leading nurse-led initiatives supporting the Wessex Cancer Alliance (WCA) ACCEND implementation and embedding cancer capabilities into the appraisal process for POSCU nurses.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential Criteria
* Registered nurse on the relevant part of the NMC register.
* Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate (min 60 credits), master’s degree in relevant specialty or equivalent demonstrated through training, experience or portfolio.
* Specialist training/qualification in Paediatric Oncology SACT education.
* Evidence of leading learning in practice, specifically in paediatric SACT education.
* Completion of all band 6 competencies within paediatric SACT education.
* Specialist clinical skills and experience within SACT delivery via multimodal routes (IV bolus, IV infusion, IM, PO, SC).
* Evidence of change management, leadership and innovation in paediatric oncology.
* Clinical experience at band 6 or equivalent within Paediatric SACT.
* Evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning and providing an excellent learning environment.
* Evidence of supporting, managing and supervising learning environments in practice.
* Completed SACT passport with at least one year of SACT administration experience.
Desirable Criteria
* Counselling or advanced communication skills qualification/training.
* Experience in the role of Practice Assessor or in supporting learner progression.
* Strong multidisciplinary team working skills.
* Experience of nurse‑led care or clinics in own practice.
