Deputy Service Manager (6 months secondment cover)
Internal Only to North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust employees.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Service Manager to support the smooth running of our composite workforce team at WCH and cross‑site outpatient departments. This fast‑paced environment is part of the operational management team, supporting the Deputy General Manager in a wide variety of functions, including management of performance targets, ensuring patient flow and medical resource management are delivered.
Main duties of the job
* Manage key constitutional performance targets and Healthcare Commission standards as delegated.
* Effectively influence service delivery, providing advice and direction in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
* Lead and contribute to specific Trust‑wide projects or initiatives as requested by the Deputy General Manager.
* Manage specific change‑management processes whilst ensuring patients’ needs continue to be met with high quality and cost‑effective services.
* Effectively communicate service reconfigurations and organisational changes to staff; devise and implement innovative solutions to ensure seamless service provision.
* Hold responsibility for the effective financial management of at least one function within the service, ensuring expenditure is in line with the budgetary limits for the service.
* Deputise in the absence of the Deputy General Manager to ensure services are maintained.
* Serve as line manager to designated staff within the directorate, leading the recruitment process for areas of responsibility, taking action under Trust personnel policies (e.g. sickness/absence, grievance, disciplinary, capability) where necessary, with the support of HR and appropriate liaison with the Deputy General Manager.
* Ensure the directorate operates in an integrated way through active coordination of the different professions, effective communication and promotion of effective multidisciplinary working.

* Standard Check: £28.00 (deducted from salary over four months or one off payment)

Other Requirements
* Able to participate in shift operational rota (14:00 - 22:00) 7 days per week

Salary
£49,387 to £56,515 a year, pro‑rated.
