IT Infrastructure Engineer – ManufacturingRotherham (Site based Mon- Fri)£30,000 - £34,000Are you a hands-on IT professional with a strong technical foundation and experience in manufacturing environments? Elevation IT are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support our clients manufacturing site and play a pivotal role in supporting and developing their IT systems. In this role, you will provide a mix of 1st and 2nd line support, infrastructure maintenance, project delivery and cyber security awareness, all while maintaining the highest standard of customer service. You will also contribute to the ongoing evolution of our client IT infrastructure in alignment with their strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver professional 1st and 2nd line support, resolving incidents efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards
* Actively contribute to infrastructure and desktop projects that support strategic development and continuous improvement
* Maintain and develop the LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites
* Support the IT Helpdesk function and ensure timely resolution of user requests within SLAs
* Follow and enforce cyber security policies to minimise organisational risk
* Drive secure and efficient use of IT systems to improve operational performance
* Assist with the management and development of our Group Azure environment, applying relevant policies and changes
* Play a key role in delivering the Group’s long-term IT infrastructure strategy
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd Line IT Support, Systems Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer role
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment (essential)
* MS Office 365 configuration and administration expertise
* Strong experience supporting and administering Microsoft Server environments
* Working knowledge of Azure Virtual Services (VMs, VPNs, consumption management)
* Endpoint protection, EDR, and endpoint management
* Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration
* PowerShell scripting and automation
* Solid knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLANs, firewalls)
* Firewall management and configuration experience
* Cyber security awareness and ability to support incident response
* Ability to produce and maintain clear, user-friendly technical documentation
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
* Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to other sites as required
