HCB Widdows Mason is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Education Law team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about education rights and are eager to support clients through various legal matters in the education sector. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for: Assisting clients with inquiries related to education law, including issues regarding special educational needs (SEN). Providing timely updates to clients and monitoring the progress of their cases. Opening and closing client files in compliance with internal and regulatory standards. Conducting legal research on relevant education policies and legislation. Drafting legal documents, letters, and other correspondence for clients. Supporting solicitors in preparing for hearings, meetings, and case presentations. Maintaining accurate records and case files within the firm's case management system. Performing general administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling and document filing. Providing occasional reception cover as needed. Requirements Excellent organisational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. A strong interest in education law and related issues. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and communication. Previous experience in a legal setting is preferable but not essential.
