Location & Flexibility
Based at Cambridgeshire Police HQ, Huntingdon, this is a full-time, permanent position offering flexibility through a hybrid working model, subject to the successful completion of an initial probationary period.
About The Role
This is an exciting position offering exposure to a wide range of project delivery and development activities, alongside day-to-day operational support. You will play a key role in delivering business change while ensuring incidents and service requests are effectively prioritised and resolved in line with departmental Key Performance Indicators.
You will demonstrate experience across multiple networking technologies to configure, maintain and support:
* Data Centre (DC) environments
* Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Wi‑Fi
* Network load balancing technologies
* Multi‑vendor security appliances
You will also support the department’s strategic move towards cloud platforms and services, contributing to the evolution of a modern, resilient network estate.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Operating as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the networking specialism, providing advanced technical support across the network estate
* Lead and contribute towards a complex and varied change program deliverables, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with business and technical requirements
* Supporting other SME teams and technology groups as required, fostering cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing
* Monitoring and managing the BCH network infrastructure to maintain high levels of availability and performance
* Proactively identifying and preventing issues, alongside reactive fault resolution through automated and manual monitoring
* Supporting the organisation’s journey towards cloud adoption and modern networking practices
* Ensuring accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and corrective actions

You will be an effective team player—organised, motivated, and adaptable—with strong communication skills and an understanding of the importance of collaboration across multiple locations and remote working environments.

Qualifications & Requirements
