Interim Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Watford - Hybrid
Duration: 6 month FTC
Salary: £75k
We're looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Senior Financial Accountant. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, driving control improvements, and supporting our finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead month-end and period-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS
* Oversee the review and reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts, maintaining SOX compliance
* Ensure robust accounting for tangible and intangible assets, including impairment reviews
* Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial reporting with legal, tax, and compliance requirements
* Support statutory and group reporting, including preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements
* Play a key role in external audits, working closely with auditors and internal teams
* Maintain and review accounting policies to ensure compliance with evolving standards
* Contribute to the implementation of SOX controls across the Accounting and Reporting function
* Coach and mentor junior team members to support skills development and knowledge sharing
About You
* We're seeking someone with a strong technical background, an eye for detail, and a proactive mindset who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
* ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualification with minimum 2 years PQE, including at least 1 year in industry
* Solid experience in statutory reporting, month-end close, and balance sheet control
* Strong working knowledge of IFRS and an ability to interpret new accounting standards
* Demonstrated experience in process improvement and financial systems (ideally SAP)
* Proven ability to analyse and present complex financial data clearly
* Confidence in managing external audits and liaising with cross-functional stakeholders
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the wider Microsoft Office suite
* Experience in asset accounting and impairment assessments
