Our Intensive Prevention Service is part of Futures Matter, which supports children and families in Staffordshire. Futures Matter encompasses:
* Intensive Prevention Service
* Youth Offending Service
* Saplings and Prevention
* Family Group Conference Service
* Breathing Space
* Child Exploitation Team
What We Do:
We believe children are best placed living within their family network. Our team:
* Provides intense support to children on the edge of care to help them stay at home.
* Supports Social Workers with re-assessments of family members to facilitate family time, aiming to support children and young people to return home after being in our care.
* Supports children to return home where an agreed plan of reunification exists.
* Uses a solution-focused, relational approach drawing upon strength-based methods to meet each family’s specific needs.
Who We Work With:
We partner with social work teams, family support teams, and other professionals, including those in the third sector. Our team is based in Stafford but works across Staffordshire and sometimes beyond.

Our team utilizes specialist skills interventions, including Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused methodology. The team also has a Young Persons Substance Misuse Worker seconded into it.
Main Responsibilities
* You will support young people (8-18 years) and their parents by developing tailored support packages, drawing upon team resources to help them remain or return home.
* Maintain positive relationships, providing high support and high challenge to effect changes in family dynamics to promote stability at home.
* Work restoratively with families, offering intensive and robust support where there is a risk of family breakdown, often due to Adverse Childhood Experiences, relationship difficulties, or exploitation risks.
* Take responsibility for accurate recording of all work on the electronic file within specified timeframes.
* Participate in team meetings, training, duty system, and service development activities.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children/young people and their families in their own homes.
* Experience delivering various interventions or direct work addressing presenting issues.
* Level 3 NVQ in Childcare or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Access to a car at all times, with mileage and an essential car allowance paid.
* Flexibility to work weekends on a rota and evenings, with additional increments.
