Our Intensive Prevention Service is part of Futures Matter, which supports children and families in Staffordshire. Futures Matter encompasses:
* Intensive Prevention Service
* Youth Offending Service
* Saplings and Prevention
* Family Group Conference Service
* Breathing Space
* Child Exploitation Team
What We Do:
We believe children are best placed living within their family network. As a team, we:
* Provide intense support to children on the edge of care to help them stay at home.
* Support Social Workers with re-assessments of family members to facilitate family time, aiming to support children and young people to return home after being in our care.
* Support children to return home where there is an agreed plan of reunification.
Our approach is solution-focused, relational, and draws upon strength-based methods of interventions tailored to each family's needs.
Who We Work With:
We partner with social work teams, family support teams, and other professionals, including those in the third sector. Our team is based in Stafford but works across Staffordshire and sometimes beyond.

Our team utilizes a range of specialist interventions, including Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused methodology. We also have a Young Persons Substance Misuse Worker seconded into the team.
Main Responsibilities
* You will be responsible for supporting young people (8-18 years) and their parents.
* Develop tailored support packages, utilizing team resources to help children remain or return home.
* Maintain positive relationships, providing high support and high challenge to effect change in family dynamics and promote stability.
* Work restoratively with families, offering intensive and robust support where there is a risk of breakdown, due to Adverse Childhood Experiences, relationship difficulties, or exploitation.
* Accurately record all work undertaken on the electronic file within the agreed timeframes.
* Participate in team meetings, training, duty systems, and service development.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children/young people and their families in their homes.
* Experience delivering various interventions/direct work addressing presenting issues.
* Level 3 NVQ in Childcare or equivalent qualification relevant to working with children and families.
* Access to a car at all times with mileage and an essential car allowance.
* Flexibility to work weekends on a rota and evenings, with additional increments.
