Trade Stand Assistant
Salary £26,000 pa
Full time, Fix-term contract until Mid-July 2026
The successful candidate will work very closely with the Account Manager and Account Executive whilst assisting in the day to day running of the trade stands within the Royal Highland Show. The candidate will manage the client's experience from booking, through to the smooth delivery at the show. The Tradestand Assistant will help answer any client queries as well as be able to offer new and fresh ideas to the wider team. A high level of detail is required along with a very positive and resilient attitude. A good level of account management and/or sales experience within the event sector is desirable but not essential.
The Royal Highland Show:
RHASS is perhaps best known for the Royal Highland Show in June – a showcase of all the best in food, farming and rural life. Attracting over 195,000 visitors and over 900 trade stands and sponsors, it is not only one of Scotland most iconic events but the largest over a four-day period.
Main Duties:
· To support the selling, managing and co-ordination of all aspects relating to trade stand space in order to meet and where possible exceed the annual sales target.
· To work with new and existing clients in order to build relationships to ensure that the experience, quality and reputation of the show are delivered to a very high standard.
· To assist with the co-ordination of all relevant information that is provided to all appropriate show staff, trade stand clients, stewards and contract staff (where applicable) before, during and after the show.
· To assist with any client queries or complaints in a professional manner, resulting in a successful conclusion.
· To be aware of the role that the Fundraising & Partnership Manager undertakes and assist to develop relationships with trade stand holders for future sponsorship opportunities.
· To carry out all relevant duties at the show through supporting the Trade team, Chief Stewards of Trade and the Operations Team, whilst ensuring the highest level of service delivery.
· To assist in the production of all relevant trade stand publications including guides and application forms.
· To work with RHASS Membership Department on trade stand ticketing and be aware of the relationship that RHASS Finance Department have in relation to trade stand payment transactions and aged debtors.
Key Skills:
· Professional and confident approach especially when interacting with the team and when representing the Society externally
· Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
· Ability to work conscientiously and without supervision at times
· Strong organisational skills, self-motivation and flexibility in approach to the working day.
· Good knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
· Experience of using a customer records management system (CRM) is desirable but not essential
· Ability to communicate at all levels.
· An interest in food/agriculture/rural matters
· Full UK driver's license is preferred
