Associate Electrical Engineer
Buro Happold is recruiting for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Building Environments team in Manchester.
This role is suited to a candidate from a Buildings background seeking industry-leading design opportunities within a vibrant, multi-disciplinary practice.
We support hybrid working; however, candidates will be expected to travel to our Manchester office several days a week.
The role
You may work as an electrical designer on large projects or as a project engineer on smaller schemes, tackling technically challenging projects like Manchester Science Park, Space Studios, and a new development in Liverpool.
Key Duties:
* Lead the electrical team and assume project leadership roles as needed.
* Communicate with clients, offering innovative design solutions and managing expectations.
* Develop technical and financial proposals for new projects.
* Manage workloads of engineers and technicians.
* Prepare technical specifications.
* Monitor project financials and oversee administrative systems, including resource planning and expenditure monitoring.
Your Skills and Experience
We expect you to demonstrate:
* Extensive electrical design experience in an MEP consultancy, with leadership experience.
* Diverse sector experience, preferably with large-scale projects.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
* Professional registration (e.g., CIBSE, IET).
* Good understanding of other design disciplines.
* Proficiency in Revit is preferred, with willingness to learn if necessary.
