We are looking for an IT Asset Manager (FinOps) to support the HCS Transformation and Governance FinOps team, who are responsible for delivering high-quality analysis of departmental Digital Cloud Services to increase the organisation’s ability to understand cloud costs and provide accountability to variable cloud spending.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage and optimise our cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring investment in technology delivers real value.
Your skills and knowledge
As an IT Asset Manager (FinOps) you will be responsible for delivering high-quality analysis of departmental Digital Cloud Services.
The key purpose of this role is to deliver accurate and efficient cost & usage reporting and analytical insight for the Digital Cloud Services that you work with.
You will ensure the business understands how people are using our Digital Cloud Services and will focus on undertaking analysis that will drive cost optimisation and efficiencies to improve the unit economics of Digital Cloud Services.
The roles and responsibilities include:
Develop asset management standards, plans, processes and procedures based on organisational policies and standards.
* Agree the scope of asset management standards, plans, processes and procedures with stakeholders to optimise the capture and use of asset management data.
* Manage asset management plans and ensure that changes to them are properly impacted, approved and communicated.
* Develop and apply processes, techniques and tools to capture, track, correct and report on assets and associated data to ensure for accuracy and completeness.
* Support the creation of formal Asset Management baselines.
* Use Asset Management data to carry out impact assessment of changes to software and hardware volumes and provide team approval for changes where applicable.
* Verify implemented changes to protect against unauthorised change and accidental non-compliance.
* Update asset data as part of the implementation of approved changes.
* Ensure that process interfaces with other functions are clearly defined.
* Audit asset management data to check for accuracy and address / recommend corrective actions.
* Report on the status of asset management data and process performance.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
* Identify risks and issues, escalating them via your manager or the relevant stakeholder as appropriate.
* Track/measure cloud usage and cost profile and use data to inform key stakeholders of potential opportunities for cost efficiencies with Digital Cloud Services.
* Monitor efficiencies for continual improvement and track delivery.
* Be skilled in Cloud Analytics dimensions and metrics and limitations of these.
* Build and create quality accessible reports in Microsoft PowerBI.
* Deliver high-quality analysis that provides meaningful and actionable insights to improve the service, proactively offering suggestions of ways to improve the service.
* Identify and communicate Cloud service performance, actionable stories and business insights from the data to stakeholders and the team, to inform design and optimisation decisions.
* Supply of high-quality service data via the performance platform and other internal dashboards to allow data-driven decisions based on visualisations, alerts, dashboards and feeds.
Key Skills and necessary experience
* Experience in working with stakeholders to define and develop appropriate KPIs, that reflect the goals of the business.
* Proven ability in the use of large volumes of data, and prepare it to present analysis and visualisations in clear ways that enable decision making.
* Working knowledge of FinOps and understands how to use data to recommend the best use of digital cloud services.
* Experience in using data to work with stakeholders and influence change whilst confidently communicating with senior stakeholders to support making effective decisions.
* Track record of providing information and advice to optimise value, control costs, manage risks, support decision-making and meet regulatory or contractual requirements.

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to £46,547 per annum.
