Job Opportunity: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Assistant\n\nAre you driven by a commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards? If so, our client is looking for a dedicated HSE Assistant to join their team!\n\nLocation: Liverpool \n\nType: Full- time, Monday - Friday \n\nSalary: 30-35k per annum \n\nRole Summary:\n\nIn this position, you'll collaborate closely with the HSE Manager to uphold and enhance the organisation's safety culture.
Your proactive mindset will be essential in supporting continuous improvement and ensuring compliance across all areas of health, safety, and environmental management.\n\nMain Duties:\n\nIn this dynamic and hands-on role, you will:\n\nCarry out detailed inspections to identify potential risks and suggest practical solutions.\nContribute to the ongoing review of site risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.\nHelp design and roll out robust health and safety procedures.\nConduct audits of operational practices, including permit-to-work and lockout/tagout systems.\nEvaluate and complete COSHH assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.\nPerform routine checks to verify adherence to standard operating procedures.\nDeliver safety inductions for new staff and contractors, ensuring clear understanding of HSE protocols.\nKeep HSE noticeboards current and informative.\nMonitor and analyse safety data to highlight trends and track progress.\nTake part in problem-solving initiatives aimed at improving safety outcomes.\nMaintain accurate documentation to support HSE activities and reporting. \n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience:\n\nTo be successful in this role, you should have:\n\nA NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety (or be working towards one).\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.\nA good grasp of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nExcellent organisational and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach.\nConfidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office. \n\nDesirable Skills:\n\nFamiliarity with permit-to-work systems.\nSEMA racking inspection certification.\nExperience in the food manufacturing sector.
