Job Title: Project Planner (Primavera P6) Software & IT
Contract Length: 6 months (scope for extension)
Rate: £500/day (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid – UK-based (occasional travel to client/customer sites)

Role Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Project Planner with a background in software or IT projects (non-construction/engineering) and hands-on expertise in Primavera P6. You’ll provide consultancy support to Project Managers and technical teams, helping to build, monitor, and maintain detailed project plans across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain resourced project plans using Primavera P6
* Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Resource Managers to ensure accurate scheduling and resource allocation
* Support earned value reporting, critical path analysis, and project costing
* Contribute to bids and proposals, mobilization planning, and engineering development stages
* Ensure plans are aligned with SAP integration and company planning standards
* Provide guidance to junior planners and support PMO reporting
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a planning role within software or IT development environments - this is a MUST, you must have experience planning in Software, Digital Transformation, Data or IT projects
* Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
* Solid understanding of project management principles and lifecycle planning
* Experience with earned value management and risk analysis tools (e.g., Monte Carlo)
* Ability to challenge and support project teams on resource and schedule accuracy
Qualifications:
* Degree in Project Management, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Desirable: APM Practitioner, Prince2 certification
