Overview
Strategic Planning Surveyor (Ref: 10775) — responsible for ensuring that all new strategic land and mineral opportunities are handled appropriately from a planning perspective. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be an effective communicator capable of complex land negotiations, focusing on specific projects and activities for the Head of Strategy and ExCo. This role sits within a new department aligned to Estates and Geology teams but operates independently to support the organisation's strategic growth plans.
Responsibilities
* Ensure strategic land and mineral opportunities are progressed from a planning perspective within the context of large-scale projects.
* Communicate effectively and negotiate complex land transactions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Support the Head of Strategy and ExCo with project-focused activities and planning inputs.
What you will bring / Qualifications
* Experience as a Planner, Estates Surveyor, Property Manager, and membership of a relevant professional body (RICS or RTPI).
* Experience within large-scale infrastructure, utility, or development projects in a commercial environment.
* Knowledge of the planning regime, experience dealing with planning applications, and participation in Local Plan/Development Plan processes.
* Stakeholder management both externally and internally, with the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplined teams across functions.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage complex negotiations.
* Be able to proactively gather information, analyse, and deliver solutions with a structured approach. Ability to prioritise and plan ahead.
* Relevant experience in the quarrying industry is advantageous but not essential.
