Start Date: ASAP

Join a Thriving School Community in Rickmansworth – Immediate Start Available

We are excited to partner with a well-established secondary school in Rickmansworth, recognized for its dedication to delivering a well-rounded and balanced curriculum within a supportive, inclusive environment. The school is committed to both academic excellence and the personal development of its students, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in life. The school is now seeking a passionate PSHE Teacher for an ASAP start.

As a PSHE Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the personal, social, health, and economic development of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5, depending on your experience and the school’s needs. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and guide students in navigating the challenges of adolescence and preparing them for their futures.

The Role:
As a PSHE Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons that promote students' personal development, emotional wellbeing, and social responsibility. You will work with students across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5) to equip them with important life skills, including financial literacy, relationships, emotional resilience, and citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging, interactive PSHE lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 depending on experience and school needs

* Differentiate lessons to ensure all students, regardless of ability, are supported in their personal and social development

* Encourage students to explore life skills such as emotional wellbeing, relationships, financial literacy, and citizenship

* Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development

* Prepare students for life’s milestones, including GCSEs, while fostering resilience and self-confidence

* Contribute to the ongoing development of the PSHE curriculum and department initiatives

* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where all students feel valued

* Ensure effective classroom management in line with the school’s behaviour policies

* Engage in school activities beyond the classroom, such as extracurricular initiatives and enrichment programs

* Foster strong communication with parents, staff, and students to ensure the welfare of students

What We’re Looking For:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas qualification

* A degree or experience in a relevant field (e.g. PSHE, Sociology, Psychology, Health Education)

* Experience teaching PSHE at secondary school level (or relevant placements for ECTs)

* Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for supporting students' personal and social growth

* Excellent communication and classroom management skills

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

* A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

What the School Offers:

* Competitive pay: MPS/UPS or a daily rate, depending on experience and contract type

* Professional Development: Ongoing CPD and training to help you grow as an educator

* Supportive Environment: Join a welcoming, collaborative school team focused on improvement

* Progression Opportunities: Potential for additional responsibilities or leadership roles within the PSHE department

* Modern Facilities: Well-equipped classrooms and resources to support your teaching

* Work-Life Balance: Full school holidays and initiatives designed to support staff wellbeing

* Personal Support: Dedicated consultant throughout your placement, ensuring ongoing support
