Junior Estates Officer
Location: Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9WL
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Shift options: 08:00 to 16:00 or 07:00 to 15:00.
Hourly pay rate: £20.44 to £24.61, dependent on skills and experience.
Reporting to: Electrical Manager. Responsible for managing a maintenance team and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of hospital engineering services.
Responsibilities
* Carry out monthly preventive maintenance (PPM) for lifts.
* Complete basic repairs on hoists and diagnose issues.
* Complete monthly meter readings.
* Ensure lift door tracks are clear on site.
* Support shift staff in completing lift PPMs on site.
* Work with the insurance company to have repaired hoists inspected.
* Organise and monitor lifting equipment on site.
* Assist with fire calls and lift trappings as required.
Qualifications
* HTM 08 Lifts Authorised Person certification.
* Experience in maintenance of lift/LOLER services.
* Experience in line management of staff.
* Experience in the management of contracts and contractors.
* Working knowledge of all health and safety legislation affecting the role.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports.
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office and email use.
* Ability to plan and programme works to achieve best value.
* Ability to manage, prioritise, and plan own workload, delivering within required time‑scales and making decisions.
* Broad knowledge of electrical engineering services.
