Deputy Ward Manager (Band 6) – Oak Ward, County Hospital
Job Overview
Lead and manage ward activities on a shift‑by‑shift basis, acting in the absence of the Ward Manager. Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care within a recovery‑focused service. Mentor and supervise junior staff, and collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care while ensuring compliance with the National Service Framework.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and management of ward activities during each shift.
* Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients.
* Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering professional development.
* Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
* Ensure compliance with the National Service Framework and relevant policies.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree qualification.
* Previous nursing service experience.
* NMC registration.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in primary care.
* Previous managerial experience.
* Experience in change management.
Required Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, approachable, compassionate and time‑management abilities.
* Demonstrated evidence‑based clinical practice and mentoring experience.

Pay
