The Opportunity
CV Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing operation in Leicestershire for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their days-based maintenance team. This is a permanent, days-only position offering a strong salary and a stable, supportive working environment.
The business places a strong emphasis on equipment reliability, electrical safety and continuous improvement. Whilst a background in heavy manufacturing is an advantage, it is not a requirement - candidates with solid electrical competence and the right attitude are equally encouraged to apply.
The Role
* Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems to maximise equipment reliability and uptime
* Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, minimising production downtime
* Service and maintain motors, drives, PLCs, control panels, sensors and associated electrical equipment
* Support condition monitoring activities including thermography, insulation resistance testing and vibration analysis
* Assist with electrical installation, testing and inspection in line with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects targeting system reliability, downtime reduction and production efficiency
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within the site CMMS
* Work closely with production, engineering and shift maintenance colleagues to deliver improvements
* Provide cover for the shift team during holidays and absence periods
* Work safely in line with all site procedures including LOTOTO, PPE and H&S standards
What We're Looking For
* Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering - essential
* NVQ Level 3 minimum, plus 18th Edition (IET Wiring Regulations) - essential
* Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills across industrial systems
* Hands-on experience with motors, drives, PLCs, control panels and industrial electrical equipment
* Sound understanding of PPM/TPM systems and CMMS platforms
* Good awareness of electrical and site safety procedures including LOTO, PPE and H&S
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
* Experience of predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis or insulation testing - desirable
* Involvement in CI, reliability or equipment modification projects - preferable
* Heavy manufacturing background - desirable but not required
