Head of Premises & Facilities

Based: London

Salary: up to £75,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Then join our team as a Head of Premises & Facilities, based on our London campus.


We’re looking for a Head of Premises and Facilities Management who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on management. You’ll oversee the operations and development of our campus locations and office space, creating safe, welcoming, and well-managed environments for our students, staff, and visitors.


This is both a strategic and practical role: you’ll be leading on our premises strategy (including planning for a move or consolidation) while ensuring that the essentials, from health and safety compliance to day-to-day facilities, are consistently well managed.


You’ll also lead a small, friendly team of receptionists helping them deliver a professional and supportive service across our sites.



What you’ll do


Strategic leadership

* Develop and deliver a clear premises and facilities strategy aligned with Walbrook’s growth plans.
* Lead on projects such as site moves, refurbishments and improvements to space utilisation.
* Work closely with senior colleagues to ensure our physical spaces reflect our educational mission and values.


Operational oversight

* Ensure all sites operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
* Oversee all relevant contractor relationships.
* Manage premises budgets and ensure best value from suppliers and service contracts.
* Keep business continuity and emergency plans up to date and effective.


Leadership and collaboration

* Manage and support a small team of reception staff, promoting excellent service and teamwork.
* Work collaboratively with academic, operational, and IT teams to make sure facilities support effective teaching, learning, and flexible working.
* Be a visible and approachable presence across our sites, responding to facilities needs and ensuring our spaces are positive and productive environments.



About you


You’ll bring a blend of strategic insight and practical experience; someone who can think ahead while also making sure things run smoothly today.


We’re looking for someone who:

* Has solid experience in facilities or premises management in Higher Education, ideally across multiple sites.
* Can lead on major projects such as office/campus moves or refurbishments.
* Understands health and safety and compliance requirements.
* Is confident managing budgets and supplier relationships.
* Is a natural communicator who can build positive relationships across the organisation.
* Has experience leading small teams and enjoys helping others grow.


It would be great if you also have:

* A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (or equivalent).
* An interest in sustainability and how we can make our spaces greener and more efficient.
