Job Purpose:
Work with colleagues on the Engineering Shift Team to ensure optimum availability of equipment within Site. Ensure work is carried out in line with appropriate Health & Safety Instructions and other site policies. Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner. Monitor activities to maximize productivity and reduce downtime within the factory. Adhere to food safety requirements and drive quality. Ensures employees comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safe, efficient operations and maintain positive working environment. Advocate of development and implementation of site continuous improvement projects
The Role:
1. Respond to line breakdowns urgency and in a timely manner with the aim of minimising line downtime.
2. Respond to engineering and facility queries raised by departments
3. Comply with site policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment for all employees.
4. Ensure Site and Departmental KPI targets are met.
5. Maintain engineering workshop, toolboxes, spares etc in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
6. Ensure PPM's are undertaken in line with OEE recommendations.
7. Involvement with Continuous Improvement initiatives as may be required.
8. Adopt a continuous learning approach to work to ensure you skill match the role and site requirements
9. Work with colleagues from all functions in the organisation in a co-operative and positive manner.
10. Work in line with the company Behaviours
11. Adopt a flexible approach to work which might result in providing cover for colleagues when absent due to sickness / holidays etc.
12. Any other tasks which might be required from time to time and for which you are suitably qualified.
13. Provide a excellent and efficient customer service to the site teams
14. Work as a whole engineering function
Requirements:
15. Good verbal and written communication skills.
16. Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organisation.
17. Experience of working in an FMCG environment undertaking PPM's and attending machine breakdowns.
18. Experience of fault finding.
19. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Systems e.g. Six Sigma / 5S etc
20. Ideally apprentice trained with equivalent of NVQ level 3 in both a mechanical and electrical discipline.
21. Min 17th Edition Electrical Certificate
22. Ideally undertaken IOSH Managing Safely course (or equivalent)
23. Minimum 3 years' experience post training / qualification
24. Ideally experience of working within a food manufacturing environment
25. Experience of Mondini packaging equipment and Herbert Labellers would be an advantage
