Job Description Finance Assistant Overview We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Finance Assistant to join their vibrant and collaborative finance team! This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with experience in transactional finance who thrives in a fast-paced, varied role. You’ll become an integral part of a friendly, supportive team where no two days are the same — and where you’ll have the chance to get hands-on with all areas of the finance function. This is a full-time, on-site position offering both challenge and reward in equal measure. Details: Full-time, permanent position Office-based outside of York (due to location you will need to drive) Up to £30,000 Free on-site parking Responsibilities: Process purchase invoices, including coding, price verification, and uploading to Sage 50 Run weekly payment batches and reconcile supplier statements Match purchase orders and delivery notes to invoices Upload and process sales invoices into Sage 50, ensuring pricing accuracy Set up and maintain supplier and customer accounts Reconcile customer and supplier ledgers and resolve discrepancies Prepare monthly costing reports for internal review Perform daily bank reconciliations and create online payments Assist with month-end journals and reporting Support generation of management invoices using bespoke software Carry out ad hoc finance admin and support tasks as needed Qualifications & Requirements: Experience in both purchase and sales ledger processes Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Sage 50 Accounts Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines Confident communicator and team player Experience working in a multi-entity business is desirable but not essential If you’re looking for a hands-on finance role with variety and the chance to make a difference in a close-knit team, we’d love to hear from you.
