The Role You will be the primary point of contact for all matters regarding student attendance and punctuality. Key Responsibilities: Monitoring & Reporting: Track daily attendance using the school’s Management Information System (MIS) and identify patterns of persistent absence. First-Day Response: Contact parents and carers via telephone or text when a student is absent without notification. Intervention: Meet with students and parents to discuss attendance concerns, creating action plans to improve engagement. Home Visits: When necessary, conduct home visits to support families and verify the wellbeing of students who are not in school. Compliance: Prepare documentation for the Local Authority regarding legal interventions and attend attendance panel meetings. Requirements Previous experience as an Attendance Officer, School Administrator, or in a similar pastoral/welfare role. Proficiency in using school management software (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom). A strong understanding of the legal requirements and statutory guidance surrounding school attendance. Highly organized with the ability to manage a busy workload and meet strict reporting deadlines.
