You will support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential through practical and emotional support, making a positive difference in their lives.
Our teams provide care and support for individuals with various conditions across Priory sites throughout the UK.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential. We value individuals who demonstrate the right values and behaviors to make a difference. Full training is provided, along with numerous career pathways, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal hygiene
2. Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed linens
3. Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals
4. Providing support to attend medical appointments
5. Monitoring, observing, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and reporting changes to senior staff
6. Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
* Empathy, understanding, and patience
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
* Ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
* Proficiency in verbal and written English
* A healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential

Job Role Description
Located in Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Scotland, Newhouse offers residential support for 22 adults with primary learning disabilities, who may also have physical health needs or be on the autism spectrum. Our dedicated team provides the appropriate level of support to enable individuals to live as independently as possible.
