DT Teacher
Milk Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Middlesbrough who are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a long-term supply basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge. While the primary focus will be within Design & Technology, the successful candidate may also be required to provide cover across the wider DT curriculum, depending on the needs of the department.
The Role
1. Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
2. Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.
3. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student progress and achievement.
4. Maintain high expectations of behaviour and engagement.
5. Support the wider DT department and contribute to departmental initiatives where appropriate.
6. Provide cover within other areas of the Design & Technology faculty as required.
The Ideal Candidate
7. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
8. Has experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting.
9. Is confident teaching across a range of DT specialisms or willing to support wider areas of the department.
10. Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
11. Is committed to delivering engaging lessons and achieving positive outcomes for students.
12. Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
