Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for Permanent Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our Scottish Grounds Maintenance Account in Inverkeithing, Fife.
Our Scottish Grounds Maintenance Account works in partnership with other Amey accounts to deliver grounds maintenance services internally. Our main work involves providing grounds maintenance services for our facility management colleagues in Secure Infrastructure.
This work includes all planned grounds maintenance activities across 70 school sites nationwide, spread over 6 local authority areas: Borders, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Renfrewshire. In addition to scheduled maintenance, we also perform winter and responsive works. Another key activity is internal vegetation management for NMCSW and NMCNE highways contracts.
The Grounds Maintenance Operative plays an important role in providing general maintenance, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, leaf clearing, verge maintenance, and litter collection in the Inverkeithing area.
The standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Horticultural activities such as planting, pruning, and seeding
* Setting up and dismantling equipment
* Preparing sports pitches, including grass and tarmac surfaces
* Maintaining artificial and synthetic pitches
* Tree care
* Checking vehicles, tractors, and cutting equipment
* Weather-dependent activities such as gritting and snow clearing
We want to hear from you if you have:
* A full driving license, preferably with trailer towing experience
* Experience in grounds maintenance duties
* Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture
Additionally, experience with ride-on mower equipment would be beneficial to help you get started quickly, but this is not essential as training will be provided.
