Job description:
Join a growing automotive manufacturing business focused on high performance filtration systems for passenger and commercial vehicles. You will drive product quality, reduce defects, and strengthen processes across production lines.
About the Role
You take ownership of quality across incoming materials, in process production, and finished goods. You work closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to maintain strict automotive standards and deliver zero defect performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead root cause analysis on quality issues
* Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce scrap and rework
* Manage internal audits and support external audits
* Monitor KPIs such as PPM, scrap rate, and customer complaints
* Approve first article inspections and production part approval process submissions
* Work with suppliers to resolve non-conformance and improve incoming quality
* Review control plans, PFMEA, and process flow documentation
* Support new product introduction and ensure quality readiness at launch
* Train production teams on quality standards and inspection methods
What You Bring
* Ideally/preferred degree in Engineering or related technical field, however vocational experience will be considered
* Ideally 3 plus years' experience in automotive manufacturing
* Good understanding of ISO9001:2015; TS16949:2016
* Fully conversant in PDC, PFMEA, Control Plans, 5S, Lean Philosophy, Core quality tools
* Metrology skills Ideally CMM conversant or trained in PcDmis.
* Experience with filtration products, plastics, rubber, or metal components preferred
* Strong problem solving skills with a data-driven mindset
* Confident communicator across shop floor and senior leadership
* Ideally TS16949 internal auditor trained
