The Role
Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting three Lead Child Protection Practitioners (LCPPs) to strengthen consistency and quality across Child Protection practice countywide. You’ll lead multi‑agency decision‑making, chair statutory meetings, and ensure families experience a transparent, supportive and child‑centred process.
This is a senior practice role with significant influence over safeguarding standards, planning, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Strategy Discussions and multi‑agency decision‑making, including Section 47 planning
* Chair Child Protection Conferences, Children in Care Reviews, LADO meetings and Supervision Order Reviews
* Meet parents, carers and children (8+) prior to conferences to support participation and understanding
* Ensure independent advocacy is offered and that CP plans are clear, timely and outcome‑focused
* Oversee quality assurance activity including audits, dip sampling and reflective case discussions
* Provide expert advice to practitioners, managers and partner agencies
* Monitor multi‑agency safeguarding arrangements and escalate concerns where required
* Contribute to thematic reviews, learning events and improvements to policy, process and practice
About You
You’ll be an experienced, confident safeguarding practitioner who can lead complex decision‑making and manage highly sensitive meetings with professionalism and empathy.
Essential
* Qualified Social Worker with 5+ years post‑qualifying experience
* Strong knowledge of CP, CiC, LADO processes and statutory frameworks
* Skilled in chairing challenging meetings and analysing complex information
* Excellent communication, negotiation and partnership‑working skills
