Overview
We are launching Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Student Health Visitor training posts for applications beginning in September 2026. The programme is fully funded and will qualify you as a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor). The role is open to all qualified Nurses and Midwives registered with the NMC.
Locations for this role are St Austell, Newquay or Bodmin – covering Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly from the Devon border through Bude, Launceston, Liskeard, Helston and Penzance.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of Health Visiting and School Nursing services across six localities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, service users, other professionals and the voluntary sector to meet the needs of local communities and improve outcomes for children and young people.
* Lead, assess, evaluate and manage public health provision, ensuring safe, effective and efficient delivery.
* Receive supportive supervision, clinical caseload management, safeguarding supervision and clinical restorative supervision.
* Participate in a supportive supervision framework and career pathway that encourages progression within the service.

* Qualified Nurses and Midwives registered with the NMC.
